The Origin of OGM
Early in his career as a project manager, Mirza kept asking a question that no one could answer clearly: Where do projects truly begin, and how do they connect to the larger purpose of the organization?
That question became the spark that changed the direction of his career. He began studying corporate strategy, portfolio management, and organizational alignment. Over time, he was given the opportunity to help plan strategy for entire organizations, defining what companies needed to do to grow and strengthen their bottom line.
Through over two decades of study, testing, and hands-on work across different industries, a clear pattern emerged: a natural flow that connects Vision all the way down to Projects. Every project, every program, and every task must start from something larger. The organization's mission and vision.
What shocked him most was how few people truly knew this connection. He began asking project managers with over fifteen years of experience if they could clearly explain why their projects existed. Most could not.
The reason was not ignorance. It was the absence of a system. Companies set strategy in one room, approve portfolios in another, launch programs in a third, and run projects in a fourth. Each layer believed it was doing its job. But the thread connecting them was invisible, undocumented, and assumed.
From that insight, OGM was born. A structured, traceable architecture that connects every level of organizational work to its strategic purpose, and makes the connection measurable, not assumed.
OGM, GEM, and GEMAXIOM
OGM (Organizational Goals Management) is the architecture. It defines the cascade from vision to goals, portfolios, programs, projects, and KPIs.
GEM (Goals Execution Matrix) is the engine inside OGM. It produces two measurable outputs at every level: the Alignment Matrix and the Synergy Matrix. Together, they score how well each initiative supports the strategy, and how initiatives relate to each other.
GEMAXIOM is the platform. It turns the OGM architecture and GEM engine into a live, continuous strategy execution intelligence system.
